What a joy it is to taste these new releases from Fuligni. The Brunellos in particular are both exceptional for their respective vintages. The wines capture a middle ground between modern and traditional styles that is immensely appealing.

La Dame de Montrose Saint Estephe 2006 RP 90

The second wine, the 2006 La Dame de Montrose, is a shrewd choice for wine consumers. A blend of 58% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 12% Cabernet Franc, plus a small quantity of Petit Verdot, it is a layered, lush, fleshy effort possessing ripe red and black fruits interwoven with hints of earth and spice box. Plush, round, and sexy, it should be enjoyed during its first 10-12 years of life.

Chateau De Myrat 2005 Sauternes RP 92

A very lifted nose with great definition: notes of honey, white peach, mango and dried apricots. The palate is very intense with superb acidity and vibrancy, good levels of botrytis with a clean, fresh, vibrant honeyed finish. Very good weight and persistency – this is a superb 2005 and a great success for Myrat. Drink 2012-2035. Tasted April 2008.
